Operations Technician

FULL-TIME

Primary roles:

DATA INTEGRITY

  • Day to day backup management

    -Status reporting of all backups. Include servers or clients who do not use our backup services for visibility

    -Other reporting as directed by management

  • Backup repairs/troubleshooting

  • Backup integrity checks

  • Restoration testing

  • Restoration of files/servers locally and in the cloud

  • Backup alignment

    -Are we backing up all servers? Can we automate this?

    -Exceptions?

    -All Drives on all servers?

  • Documentation of backed up systems, applications used

  • Maintain/create policies related to data integrity

  • Evaluate performance of backups and restoration tests. Recommend improvements.

  • Quote/Spec new backups for new and existing clients and properly size the local/cloud resources to meet client needs.

  • Match RPO/RTO to current backup operations and adjust as necessary. Notify management where there is misalignment.

SECURITY MANAGEMENT

  • Manage and execute on all filter adjustment requests

    -Email filters

    -Web content filters

    -DNS Filters

    -Endpoint protection

  • Update policies and procedures related to filter management

  • Cynet triage and response?

  • Review security incidents

  •  Maintain process documents related to the various parts of the overall security solution for Realtime and it’s clients.

TROUBLESHOOTING

  • Work with vendors to rapidly restore services related to these and other duties.

 REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years’ experience in IT

  • Solid technical background with service desk experience.

  • Customer-service oriented with a problem-solving attitude.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

  • Team management skills.

  • BS degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant field a plus.

  • IT/PM certifications a plus.
